Cameras are completely incapable of giving actual truth, but are humans greatest tool at delivering emotional truth
A study of the effect of the camera on time. how does camera movement affect us emotionally? How does camera movement affect our perception of time does it shorten it? Does it elongated why is that?
What does repetition do to us if you repeat an action enough times how does it change our perception? Does it turn them into isolated events? or a collection of some larger action?
Can a camera actually capture truth . Back-and-forth shows just how manipulative cameras are to our interpretation of a space. It can make what would otherwise be completely normal and comprehendible into something completely abnormal and unfamiliar. Are our eyes any different from the camera? Do what our eyes see provide any more truth. Do cameras actually have anything to say or do we just see what we want them to say.
We are at the mercy of the Director, the cinematographer and the editor. But more so, at the mercy of our own human instincts and senses to try to make sense of anything and everything we see around us on a daily basis.
