It's a comforting movie, and it's pretty skillful to have it be that, considering some of the dark directions the story goes. Great performances from everyone, especially between Mary Stuart Masterson and Mary-Louise Parker, whose chemistry is off the charts. Whoever in the production stopped them from being lovers are cowards; they robbed the audience of one of the most beautiful love stories ever. Kathy Bates is really funny, especially when she unleashes "Towanda," which is comedic gold. Her moments with Jessica Tandy are sweet and mostly contribute to the comforting factor of the film. Good film, great time at the cinema.
