A disgruntled former employee hijacks the Seabourn Legend cruise liner. Set on a fixed course, without any means of communication and at the mercy of the hijacker, it's up to the one cop on vacation, and his soon to be fiancé (hopefully) Annie, to regain control of it before it kills the passengers and causes an environmental disaster. Insurmountable and daunting tasks await them on their perilous journey throughout the ship trying to fend off the hijacker and save the passengers.

I seriously don’t know how to articulate just how bad this movie is 💀. It was like it was written by ai but somehow it is so bad that only a human could write it.
If it wasn’t for willem Defoe, the opening score and the plane stunt (shit was great), I’d give this a straight 1. I seriously cannot fathom how this movie made it past anyone.
It literally lulls you into a false sense of security with the opening 20 min (not even that bad tbh) and then it takes a fucking cliff dive to its well deserved death.
Listen to the haters, this is ridiculous and honestly embarrassing for the people that worked in this movie.

“traditionally speaking, isn't it true that the captain goes down with his ship?”
i truly can’t say that i enjoyed speed 2. i just think that the efforts at the James Bond-esque comedic one liners weren’t effective in any way and ruined the movie. this was supposed to be action packed as the first one was but failed miserably.
sandra bullock really annoyed me in this one, she tried to save the day and failed? she wouldn’t let alex do anything? alex saved a literal child and she dismissed the little girl? i don’t even know anymore man. annie should’ve stayed with jack traven just saying!! (although she did say he got her pepper spray for her birthday sooo…)
willem dafoe on the other hand, he was the only person besides jason patric who was keeping this film alive. willem dafoe as an actor is significantly better than all of the cast in this, i think his one liners were funny. he looked perfect for this role, his eyes look so menacing: he played this role very well.
i didn’t really like the structure of the film, i felt as though it was two hours of my life i’m never getting back? just the concept of jason patric attempting to save a bunch of people from an evil computer obsessed golf player on a cruise ship doesn’t appeal to me. the first one was so much better.
although if keanu were starring in this, i feel as though it would of been atleast a bit better than it was. no hate to jason patric, he is a great actor.
