maybe i'm reading too much into it, but i found this to be a surprisingly thoughtful film about the insecurities that come with marriage and settling down. it explores how chasing excitement in the moment (or under the guise of “excitement” and "fun") can jeopardize your future, and how easy it is to give in to temptation when you’re feeling uncertain or afraid. at the same time, it suggests that you can rediscover that sense of excitement within your existing relationship, and once you see your love everything is put in perspective and you remember exactly why you love them.
PSA: i don’t condone the cheating at all; but at least both characters cross that line so it basically cancels out!
and can we give it up for that WEDDING SCENE!! idc i thought that was beautiful. extra 1/2 star for that.
