“You may not be Toby, but your're still my son”
Watched this so much as a kid. Couldn’t be more desperate for a film to hold up on rewatch. Overall, it kind of held up, but also underwhelmed me. So much missed potential here.
Toby dying could’ve hit so much harder. Even robot Toby being rejected could’ve hit harder. In so many areas it could’ve easily been expanded or refined.
But to be honest, the nostalgia is still there for this film, and so no matter how ‘bad’ or ‘good’ it is, I still love it.
