There's plot drama and there's character drama in this. When it's doing plot drama it got interesting. When it did the character drama it was a slog. Oh, the brothers and the sister are all related that makes the situation there in more... something ... I guess? I don't know I just didn't care so every time they tried to get emotion with things it felt forced and melodramatic.

State of grace is a very straightforward run of the mill mob film with a great cast that make this rather bland film entertaining.

Gary Oldman has really just been so committed and insane his whole career he really gets you captivated in this one. This movie does feel 30 minutes too long but I do appreciate how many ideas they tried out in this thing.
