Harold Lloyd is the geeked out beta be-spectacled son of brawny local Alpha Sherrif (Walter James) who keeps the town in check with the help of his equally brawny Alpha sons (Olin Francis and Leo Willis). When a travelling Medicine Show comes to town, Harold falls for starlet Mary (Jobyna Ralston) and must unwit an attempt to steal the town's accumulated wealth.

Plenty of creative scenarios, humourous sight gags and from a personal perspective it is satisfying to see the nerd achieve super-saiyan advancement over his doubters.

Featured length silents are always a struggle in this day and age, but The Kid Brother had a significant enough laugh quota to keep me entertained on my treadmill bound quest to achieve 12500 steps.

The thing that i love about Harold Lloyd films isn’t the crazy stunts or scenarios which he finds himself in, but the way he portrays love. How his characters are often very shy and meek, the ‘everyman’, who has no friends and can’t talk to girls. Then he meets the girl who falls in love with him and she helps him build up his courage. Even if he admits to her that he has lied or upset her, she will still love him and encourage him to overcome his fears. His famous glasses add to his boyish, naive personality. It’s all very sweet and almost impossible not to fall in love with him i think.
