some scenes were very male gazy and uncomfortable... HOWEVER, the last 30 minutes of this movie was the coolest most girl boss thing I have ever seen, so it mostly makes up for it

watched it over 3 days .... slow melancholic and beautiful imagery.
I need that soundtrack 😩 😫 compliments the whole atmosphere so well.

Mermaid legend is the lady snowblood of the 80s and its not as good as lady snowblood but damn it's almost there.
It's a slow burn revenge movie that may start a little slow but it definitely picks up in a great way at the end. Following a woman whose husband is killed due to witnesses in a murder. The story may sound simple but the style makes it definitely worth while.
The lead actress played by Mari Shirato is great and gives her all. The last shot on the bridge was chefs kiss. The ending goes hard and her preformance makes it only better.
The build up is great and as we follow our main character as she goes through her journey to her ultimate and pretty assome revenge.
The underwater shots look great. The music is good too. The direction is well done and I just loved everything about it.
