ABSOLUTE ALL TIME MASTERPIECE

It’s so incredibly disturbing to look back when Godzilla actually represented the nuclear trauma instead of just being a monster who kicks everyone's ass… This film is so important because, honestly, it’s not even about Godzilla at all, it’s about the agony and suffering of people caused by nuclear testing, and you can feel that pain in every single frame

It’s crazy how it still hits harder than most modern stuff
No matter how many versions we get, this one stays on top, I’m obsessed with everything in this movie, from Godzilla’s design to the original plot. This GOATzilla’s design is easily my favorite.. it’s so amazing and creepy. Honestly, I still can’t wrap my head around how they made such a legendary costume back then, it’s just insaneeee, the whole "man in the suit" era will forever be my favorite way to see Godzilla

Also, the music theme is the literal GOAT, it’s the most iconic theme and gives me goosebumps every time i hear it.. Total peak cinema

I'm honestly surprised how little it actually had to do with the creature Godzilla and that it's more of a political thriller. I wasn't prepared for that, but all the better!

That ending is so good, and the underwater scenes are wonderful.

This is just so much better than films that use CGI for those type of creatures, but i don't think thats a hot take at all lol.

Even from 1954 Godzilla still reigns supreme. Despite the at times goofy effects; Godzilla itself still remains pretty scary. And the destruction scenes are well shot and have the perfect levels of chaos.
I also really enjoyed the cast of characters, which is a hallmark for all the good Godzilla movies.
Really happy I got to see this in a theater, because every time the score kicked in, I found myself leaning towards the screen.
