This movie is an absolute trainwreck but it is almost worth watching just to see how completely unhinged Matthew McConaughey is Before they became huge stars both he and Renée Zellweger got stuck in this bizarre sequel that feels more like a terrible comedy than a horror movie The plot makes absolutely zero sense especially when it tries to introduce a weird secret society conspiracy behind the family of killers Leatherface is reduced to just crying and screaming in a dress the entire time and the horror elements are completely non-existent It is a totally goofy mess that nearly killed the franchise but it is undeniably hilarious to watch McConaughey chew the scenery.
