genuinely so beautiful to look at. it’s so visually stunning!! this is definitely one of my favorite Pokémon movies. Manaphy is super cute, and the emotional core of the movie is surprisingly really good too. it’s about caring for someone or something enough to let it go, especially through May’s bond with Manaphy, it’s a really sweet message. 

but i can’t help but feel like Misty would’ve fit this story even better. a sea based legend, emotional attachment, stuff like responsibility, this was so her lane. May does this role really well, but there’s a small part of me wants Misty back real bad. 

that’s honestly my only real issue. the Pokémon choices are great, the pacing is smooth, and the movie is just absolutely amazing to look at.

May is just kind of annoying if I’m being honest though I still have a lot of nostalgia for her as a character so I can’t hate her. This movie was okay. I also have never loved Manaphy as a mythical so there just wasn’t a lot going in favor for the film in the first place.
