Could've been shorter but still good. Loved the handling of drag. I didn't care too much for Anton Walbrook and would of just preferred more Hermann Thimig. My only real complaint is it being a little slow for me. Also I feel like out of every genre musicals benefited the most from widespread technicolor, the dance sequences would have been better with some color.

One of the last gasps of the Weimar era and of the joyful queerness and freedom along with it. A very enjoyable and hilarious film, but there is pervading eeriness strictly due to the context of when and where this movie was made. Must get around to seeing the Blake Edwards remake.

The farcical setup of Victor and Victoria is honestly a riot once it has set itself up adequately enough. This original German production of the story that had been remade time and time again since (sometimes even by the same director) was a little hard for me to get back into as I don’t know much about German or how Germans structure their music, but revisiting this proved to be a lot easier than going in without any knowledge whatsoever.
