I wasn't a huge fan of Jayden's performance (Kaitlyn Dever) because it quite literally felt like they pulled a teen off the street and had her read her script for every on-screen line delivery.

It also feels just a little bit underdeveloped as a whole but I really think they nailed what they were going for

Because I was. Just a messed-up teenager with too many thoughts and too much pain buried too deep.
And then I found Short term 12 .
I don’t think I could’ve found a better film.
This one doesn’t just tell a story — it holds you by the throat and hugs you at the same time.
Everyone should see it. Everyone needs to feel that kind of ache. The one that shatters you, but leaves the light on.
The kind that makes you realize — quietly, suddenly — that maybe you’re lucky in ways you didn’t see before.
I’m not gonna explain why this film hit me so hard. Some things are just too personal.
But I saw parts of myself I’ve never dared to say out loud.
And the scene where Marcus sings? That one carved itself into me.

Ik ben serieus flabbergasted. Hoe tf maakt een regisseur dit en een van de slechtste poep films ooit (shang chi bs film). Deze shit is insane. Mensen zeggen dat dit lijkt op manic, en dat is bullshit. Dit is andere shit, maar ongeveer even goed denk ik. Het is manic maar veel meer uitgewerkt. Dat is goed en slecht tegelijkertijd. Rami malek en keith steinfield op dezelfde film is insane. De hele plot is insane. De film is net zoals een trein. Hij begint gelijk snel, maar hij wordt steeds sneller totdat de trein gewoon explodeert. Manic voelde misschien wel echter, maar deze plot is deep enzo. Marcus is beste character en fuck luis.
