Anyway I love this movie. The philosophy, the acting, the comedy, the story, the heartbreak, Bette Davis, Leslie Howard and Humphrey Bogart all in a movie together. It’s so good.

Holy shit, this was so much better than I thought. I am not a huge fan of the crime genre but the story and romance was so interesting that I was engaged throughout. I also adored Bette's and Bogie's performances in this and the dialogue ate so hard. I highly recommend this!

Leslie Howard usually reads as pretentious to me, but here it actually kind of works. The script is a bit dramatic, but coupled with Bette Davis’s sincere performance and Leslie Howard acting in the role he was born to play it makes for a satisfying movie. 
Also I couldn’t go without mentioning Bogie’s small part in this. He somehow manages to be both very weird and very cool so, per usual, I wish he was in more scenes.
