Considering that this Is the film experimenting with the use flashbacks– It’s undeniably a cinematic milestone. Now wether the use of flashback was well used Is up to you, but we can’t be too harsh considering this Is the grand beginning.
But eventough It was hard to grasp what was what during the flashback scenes In the prison cell– and eventough the flashbacks scenes weren’t fantastic– It still and some really cool scenes. The opening scenes of the actual crime reminded a lot of psycho which was really cool to see– as well as the execution scene that was really well EXECUTED😂✌️. Haha funny me.
Anyhow, combining that with the dreamlike decor (btw why do all these decors In French short films from the 1890s/1900s looks so dreamy)– you get a really decent short film.
