so much of this feels tailor-made for me, being that I A) am essentially a Chicagoan about now B) lived in Rome C) wanted to be an architect when I was a kid and D) get worrisome ‘bout my belly
the only thing stopping me from loving this more is it feels at arm’s length with diving deeper into its ideas and favoring recurring motifs (which are also, usually my jam) over more concise or evolving plot beats
still adore so much of this. Greenaway’s framing, as beautiful as always. And this being more ‘straightforward’ as opposed to his other works feels more like him taking a step back to allow the Roman art to speak for itself
Brian Dennehy is an absolute force. ALL my homies hate Caspasian. And stress and alcohol isn’t giving me stomach cancer, my wife is just a harlot
