Super interesting look at behind the scenes on the whole series. The little anecdotes about being in ape makeup and stuff was really fun.
I wonder if this was made now and the interviewees were still alive they would talk down on the movies more. They hint at being displeased with the films' existence and certain execution, but not much and I wonder if that's because of how it was made only a little over 20 years after the movies. And the inclusion of the former fox exec. It was really funny when the Fox exec said he didn't even consider there might be political messages in the movie, and then the next clip is someone else saying "we all knew it had a serious message on set". Maybe they couldn't offend the exec guy on the doc.
It was interesting that all the movies were financial successes, and were even looked upon favorably at rereleases in theaters. Since some of them are very very flawed.
