”The eyes can't see the heart.“
My first Lino Brocka film and one of his gems!
A film that shows a beautiful depiction of a hypocritical society and it’s prejudice towards people of lower class. Christopher De Leon's acting and the cinematography were truly top notch. The ending was very emotional and nearly moved me to tears!
Though this isn’t really Brocka’s best work, as overshadowed by “Maynila sa mga Kuko ng Liwanag” and possibly “Insiang” as well, it is still one of his best films and my personal favorite of his entire filmography! This movie was really ahead of it’s time (like Brocka’s other works).
