The trope of bumbling goons V savvy kids never really gets old so long as the kids aren’t annoying and the goons play it straightforward, so this had a solid base to build off of. The story is whatever but its snappy and fun to look at. Kids today will never know the joy that was finding a walkie talkie out in the wild. I think it was a right of passage for every kid in the 1980s.
I love how Nicole Kidman’s stunt double is obviously a guy in a wig.
I kinda wish they didnt play the woosh sound effect for every bike jump though, it’s distracting.
Fun fact : james lugton & nicole kidman are both together again in the 1988 tv movie Night Master.
