Gregory Peck is so cool in this. It’s a great "ticking clock" Western that focuses way more on the psychological toll of being a legend than just mindless shootouts. That mustache is iconic, and the tension is high throughout the whole thing.
I’ll admit the ending let me down a little bit. It felt like it leaned into a trope I’ve seen in way too many other Westerns, which is a bummer because the rest of it felt so fresh and bleak for 1950. Still a great watch, even if the finale felt a bit predictable.
