Charley Davis, against the wishes of his mother, becomes a boxer. As he becomes more successful the fighter becomes surrounded by shady characters, including an unethical promoter named Roberts, who tempt the man with a number of vices. Great boxing noir with a very good ending and powerful moments. I like the boxing scenes in this movie and the acting as well. During the final fight the film also has you locked in to see what will happen would it end like how the set-up ended or will Charley get his happy ending very great job at building tension.

was half awake (not bc it was boring, I just have low iron) but the performances were good <3 i got scared when i heard uk TCM is shutting down so I’m trying to watch more classics (I’m not british but I do have anxiety)
