This was dark,eerie and unsettling
yet terribly tragic, "wuthering" and haunting.
A masterpiece that highlighted the horror of suffocating love, passion and obsession
This is the other side of the coin of any other adaption, dare I to say even of the novel (or other romanticised versions, especially Emerald Fennell's one, which I loved)where your heart would tremble with love, with its quiet whispers, its aching tenderness, something that lingers like a ghost in your chest, with a strange, aching longing for something doomed yet beautiful so unlike this version, where that same feeling curdles into dread, love is no longer something to yearn for, but something to fear.
