This is the other side of the coin of any other adaption,dare I to say even of the novel (or other romanticised versions,especially Emerald Fennell's one,which I loved)where your heart would tremble with love, with its quiet whispers, its aching tenderness, something that lingers like a ghost in your chest,with a strange, aching longing for something doomed yet beautiful so unlike this version, where that same feeling curdles into dread,love is no longer something to yearn for, but something to fear.

Much more interesting premise. Loved how the ghostly characters were depicted. There’s a layer of horror too that fits so well with the dark romance.

From my perspective, it’s amazing how they could adapt Wuthering Heights into Japanese Culture. This adaptation didn’t erase the foundation of Wuthering Heights but uniquely making its own adaptation, proving how diverse “inaccurate” adaptations could work with respect and craftsmanship. Catherine and Heathcliff aren’t Japanese in the books but they made the adaptation work without stripping the essence of inequality in the movie! Also it’s beautifully disturbing, tragic, eerie, and horror like! I could talk about this adaptation for hours tbh🥺🫶🏻
