Concert movies are really the downfall of my rating system
I love Roy Orbison beyond belief and I’ve been meaning to check this off the list for a long time and I’m so glad I did the only sad part was it was over in the blink of an eye with that said it’s quite the eye-full Roy puts on a beautiful 40s esque club scene and plays like ragtime jukebox bringing out only the greatest hits from his catalogue even though this was recorded a little over a year before his death he still sounds fantastic and looks really good too his movement on the stage isn’t extremely active or zany but that’s more likely just due to the fact that he was from a different era of musicians he’s accompanied by a very effective yet not overpowering band that just rounds out all the highlights of his voice my one snag is I wish it was shot better I think the lighting and the camerawork is good it’s just the quality I’m sure I could have found one with better picture but from what I had I would have wanted a better quality camera something of this scale but really nothing towards the camera operation I mean that pan from kristofferson to orbsion is like straight out of a dream and they still managed to capture a very unobstructed thought out telling of this night with the focus all on Roy so I loved every minute of it and will most likely watch this again a lot
