Watched this for a class
A great gangster film produced during actual gangster times. They even have the warning cards before and after to discourage you from the fae that befalls all criminals. Doesn’t do a fantastic job keeping you off the path of crime though, Tommy and Matt and way more likeable than Mike, Tommy’s straight and narrow marine brother. Fantastic use of shadows, namely during the first heist and to silhouette Tommy outside of the Schemer gangs club. You heard me right, the rival gangs name is the Schemer gang. Definitely worth checking out if you can find it scheming. I think it’s the inception of the trope following gangsters since childhood!
