Coming down from a well deserved lucy trip and now im gonna take the time to write reviews for everything i watched, however i felt the need to write a more in depth review for this movie in particular because of how much i love it even though i cant explain for shit.
This movie is like no other for me nothing hits like this one does, especially on this watch
Not gonna say too much of the plot of this movie because i want you all reading this on the recent activity feed to watch it.
Amazing performances from all the actors in the movie, love how much the actors get to breathe and just do their thing in this movie. i dont think ive ever watched a romcom or any movie for that matter with performances that felt so real; the storytelling and camerawork places you right in there with the characters and their chemistry speaks for itself
Robin williams is an absolute gem in it RIP
Its also incredibly hilarious at times, the scene where jeff bridges awakes in robin william’s humble abode will never fail to get a chuckle out of me
And obviously a gorgeous film to look with childlike wonder and imagination seeping through, despite feeling very grounded in everyday setting that is new york city
Most notably the scene at the chinese restaurant is not only very funny but incredibly striking to look at, in that moment when mercedes ruehl’s character says, “they were made for each other”, i thought to myself yep this movie and acid are in fact made for each other, and parry and lydia too of course
Definitely had me tearing up in some parts just taking in the emotional weight of the story and how gorgeous the movie is
And that ending, damn best movie ending ive ever seen, how can you outdo that shit, such a feel good story that makes you want to do good and be kind to the people around you
