Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa
My first time checking Alan Partridge out and I’m a lil disappointed to be totally honest. It got a few sniggers out of me but never a full blown laugh. Coogan is great as he always is but it was overall just an average comedy

Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa
Great jokes. Tell you what’s even better - a lot of people are shocked when I say this. The camera angles.

I was skeptical going into this, worrying it might feel too much like a generic comedy film, which at times it absolutely does.

But this has a few of the absolute funniest moments I’ve ever seen of Partridge, and I’ve seen, very nearly, every one of his titles. Yes, it does have a few clichés that I think comedy films should almost always avoid, especially how the plot is so conflict-oriented, but none of it holds Alan back from being the same funny cunt we know and love.

At no point is it a bad film, it just unfortunately drags on at times. The laughs do get weaker on average towards the end, but it’s still funny. I did have a good time with this, and as I said, it still gives us very few top-tier Partridge moments.

A really good comedy film, but slightly sub-par for Partridge.
