What the Bush administration did is in no way justifiable. George Bush and Dick Cheney should be held accountable for all the deaths of the Iraq War, whether American soldiers or Iraqi civilians. However, I hate how Michael Moore tries to glorify Iraq and pretend it was a peaceful country filled with kids running around flying kites. I hate when directors edit their documentaries to play with emotions rather than maintain historical and political accuracy. You can, and should, criticize Bush for his actions while also acknowledging the horrors Iraqi citizens and women had to endure under Saddam's regime. "Look, an Iraqi child flying a kite. Isn't Iraq just great? There have been zero human rights violations in that country. Ugh, big bad America." give me a fucking break
In addition, Moore cherry picks headlines and leaves them open ended to invite assumptions rather than providing actual context. If you are making a documentary, be objective. otherwise, go talk on a podcast. I understand why this film is held in such high regard given the timing of its release and its status as one of the few openly critical political films of the era, but it is highly overrated and, frankly, not all that impressive for me.
