“My neck… my own neck… It sounds like it’s wailing.”
Another absolute banger in the Lone Wolf and Cub saga. Although, in my opinion, it’s not as great as the first, if the rest of these are anywhere near the quality of these two, this just might be one of the best series of all time.
I said this in my other review, but Ogami and Daigoro are just so goated. You get a bit more personal bonding between the two this time around, which I really appreciate. I was just in so much awe of the first that I had unreal expectations, especially with this being everyone’s favorite entry. I could give this a 9/10 with a bit more time to sit on it.
The Akari Yagyu clan of all females and the Gods of Death are the coolest villains yet, though there’s just not a ton of story involving them. Sayaka has some nice development, though.
There’s a bit more artistic flair here, specifically with the editing, that surprised me. It’s pretty cool, but maybe does a bit more than necessary.
Daigoro activates a blade in the baby cart as he’s rolling along and chops the feet off a couple of ninjas. Had to add that just in case you’re not sold on giving this series a try. So much fun.

"Three people are warmer than two."
the lone wolf and cub series so far has been really fun, i do have a big feeling that this will be the best because this was genuinely one of the best samurai movies i've seen in a while, it's so much FUN, the action is intense, gory and suspenseful which is exactly what u need in a samurai movie. the story isn't anything to go crazy about but it's still enjoyable, it's a continuation from the first in its themes of the the unforgiving nature of the world and parental love but the story is kind of a standalone thing which works in a way as it still builds up the relationship between ogami and daigoro in a great way and u can clearly see how much daigoro means to ogami and how much he cares for him, even in the quiet and silent moments. a part of me wish these movies were longer because i could genuinely watch these for ages. i have so much fun watching samurai and ronin fight and this has had my favourite samurai action from any samurai movie in a while, ever since ran. the cinematography again was just stunning, it's so colourful and i LOVE the editing. the really really red blood adds to the overall vibe imo and i just love how silly this can be. this movie series can really be something special and i hope the other 4 movies really live up to my expectations because these first 2 movies really have been something. i didn't expect the soundtrack to be so good in these movies, they're so good and add so much tension and suspense to each fight, like along with the cinematography and the snappy editing, the soundtrack really just gives it that little touch to make this a perfect samurai movie. i loved the ending of this movie aswell, ogami is so fucking cool.

Improves upon the first film without also sacrificing what had been done well

Bedre enn første filmen. Neon sykt kule shots her, samtidig er denne penere enn den forrige.
