This was quite a complex film. I find Breillat a very interesting and complicated filmmaker, I respect her for being bold and exploring difficult topics like power and sexuality in ways that can be shocking or uncomfortable. Her films don’t give easy answers but they rly make you think long after watching.

Visually and spiritually cold, even for a Breillat. Makes sense given it's autobiographical nature. Huppert is giving a performance that is simply unbelievably great. Might be grading a tad generous on that note, but I can't deny what that does for this movie.
