In The Menu, Chef Slowik punishes John Leguizamo’s because of a horrifically bad movie his character starred in. According to Leguizamo, his character is inspired by Steven Seagal’s own failed career. However, there’s no way in hell that Calling Dr Sunshine, the fictional shitter of The Menu, is not a reference to John Leguizamo’s The Pest. And if the fate of Leguizamo’s character befell irl Leguizamo over The Pest, I’d get it, because this shit could drive a man to psychosis. Fortunately, it is so bad you’re bound to find a cringe or embarrassment laugh in there.
The intro song has unfortunately been in my head for days. Also, I must admit, I appreciated how animated Leguizamo was in the film, it reminded me of this other movie I saw him in called Spun where does a bunch of meth
