The most interesting part of my experience was that I expected a story about Caesar, but what I got was a story about humanity.. Before watching the film, I had deliberately avoided learning anything about Julius Caesar because I planned to read the play and didn’t want any spoilers.. When I started the film, I was a little confused at first, but after Caesar’s death I finally understood who everyone was and what their intentions were.. I expected Caesar’s death to be more dramatic, emotional, and memorable.. Especially the gentleman who played Caesar couldn’t quite convey that sense of betrayal and disappointment through his facial expressions as he died, even though I had seen some of his other performances before and knew he was a good actor.. After Caesar’s death, Antony’s funeral speech completely blew me away.. It was brilliant.. Sharp, profound, and incredibly well-written, while also exposing the foolishness of the crowd.. I enjoyed that scene so much that I think I’ll revisit it from time to time.. It felt like reading the most exciting chapter of a great book, and it genuinely affected me.. As I said, because I knew absolutely nothing about Caesar or his death, I was surprised to discover that Brutus wasn’t really evil.. He was simply foolish and an overthinker.. In fact, I wouldn’t even call it a true betrayal because that was never his intention.. The line spoken about him at the end of the film was excellent as well.. Apparently this is one of the most respected Shakespeare adaptations ever made.. I’d like to watch the others too and compare them before making a more detailed judgment.. After the film, I found myself wanting a statue of Caesar in my home.. Not because he was a man whose death was meant to prevent chaos but instead created it.. Rather, because that death represents humanity’s uselessness and humanity’s role as the true source of chaos.. Even today, the world still functions much like Caesar’s death did back then.. Humans try to prevent disorder, yet they end up creating it themselves
Aslında filmden önce kitabını okuyacaktım ve kitabını okuyacaktım diye bilerek Julius Caesar'la ilgili herhangi bir bilgi edinmemeye çalışmıştım ki spoiler yemiyim.. Direkt filmi izleyince başta bir afalladım ama Sezar'ın ölümünden sonra toparladım artık kim kim ve kimin niyeti ne tam hakimdim.. Sezar'ın ölümünün daha dramatik, duygusal ve akılda kalıcı bir şekilde bitmesini beklemiştim özellikle Sezar'ı canlandıran beyefendi ölürken o ihanet hayal kırıklığını yüz ifadesine taşıyamadı, oysa daha öncesinde izlediğim filmlerine bakınca iyi bir oyuncu olduğunu izledim kendisinin.. Sezar'ın ölümünden sonraki Antony'nin halkla yaptığı o cenaze konuşması beni benden aldı, çok iyiydi, çok iğneleyici, derin ve kaliteliydi, aynı zamanda halkın beyinsizliğini gün yüzüne çıkarıyordu.. O sahneyi öyle beğendim ki arada bir açıp tekrar izlerim diye düşünüyorum, bir kitabın heyecan verici bir bölümünü okur gibiydi etkilendim..
