didn’t know this was a sequel until just now, and honestly it totally works as a standalone movie — the flashbacks feel trippy but that’s very fitting for this type of movie

depressing subject matter, pretty slow, but an incredible soundtrack (over the moon ((pun)) that i recognized the EXACT BRIAN ENO AMBIENT ALBUM that plays in this movie), and some really trippy shots. very creative, film-wise. not so intriguing or innovative, script-wise

not my favorite, but i am so intrigued by this filmmaker and i will certainly now go back and watch trainspotting 1
