Can someone make a list of movies where they definitely came up with the title before the plot? This movie is for sure in that category.
I mean, Pacino playing the devil, you can't go lower than 3.5. He seemed like he was having so much fun this whole movie. But this movie is too damn long and has some flaws that are hard to overlook.
They bit off more than they could chew with a variety of intertwining plot lines. Rosemary's Baby was enough to fill a movie, they didn't need to squeeze that in a film along side The Firm and The Holy Bible. The Rosemary's Baby stuff was way too on-the-nose, it was almost an exact remake in every way, from satan claiming her reproductive rights, to
her eye makeup and the apartment. While they spent too much time on the Charlize Theron plot, her performance was outstanding. It is amazing to see two actors that haven't aged in nearly 25 years in a couple, they both must have made a deal with the devil on set.
Had they taken out one of these plot lines, they could have cut down the length of the movie and gotten to the fun parts; Keanu in court, and Pacino manipulating people. Those two elements were enough to keep me invested the entire watch on their own.
Flawed but very fun watch. Definitely give it a shot while it's on Netflix.
