okay so i rewatch this multiple times a year, particularly as a tradition every birthday and i’m 18 today and just wow. it’s the first time i’ve ever cried whilst watching it, i can’t believe i’m an adult and how this movie still is so incredibly special to me. as larry says goodbye to all the exhibits and the orchestra plays my favourite piece (teddy’s goodbye) my heart surged with nostalgia and happiness because i love this movie but it also brings me right back to when life was simpler and i knew who i was, whereas now i’m not too sure.
“i have no idea what i’m going to do tomorrow. how exciting”
this line is so fitting too as i’m graduating and an adult, i have no idea where i’m going or what i’m going to do (quite like nicky) but i do know i want to learn and inspire and continue the magic of humanity and individuality.
here’s to new beginnings and an unknown chapter ahead, may the tablet come to life once again, “smile my boy, it’s sunrise”
