Unemployedcore manic pixie dream dad Owen Wilson and his impromtu throuple. It’s fine, it’s fun, it’s earnest. The pacing’s a bit slow at times but it makes up for it with the characterization for the male leads. Kate Hudson’s character does feel comparatively flat though. I wish they gave her more to do. It’s nothing amazing, but still an alright romcom that has its moments. Shout out to when it cuts back to the leads as you hear nothing but Seth Rogen’s ominous chuckle of mischief that happens while he sneaks around the back of the guy’s house at night as he purloins his trashed tapes. Genuinely the funniest thing in the movie for me.
