This is such a movie. They put so much effort into make it look straight from the 40s and it really does look like it. Except they did not do anything with the audio…so the film and the audio just kinda seem detached. Toby McGuire completely ruined the atmosphere of this, George Clooney wasn’t doing too much better. Cate Blanchett was the only one who was locked in, still I don’t think any of those 3 should’ve actually been in this movie. The pacing is strange and the ending is meh. I did enjoy the few minute of femme fatale cate we got tho.

It feels like an amalgamation of Soderbergh’s grand scale dramatic work and his experimental guerrilla style filmmaking, but the end result is a total miscalculation.
