I hadn’t thought about this movie in years but I had a dream abt it last night so I had to rewatch it ??
obviously a silly goofy little YA adaptation but genuinely soo sweet and impressive in its ability to remind kids of their agency and their power to enact change. there is a lot of power in good hearted movies like this.

Nostalgia definitely hit me in the first half of this I would watch this on repeat as a kid. I wanted to be mullet-fingers so bad I’d just run outside barefoot. That being said the second half is where it starts to slow down for me, although Luke Wilson and Tim Blake Nelson’s humor does save the day
