this has to be one of the worst sequels ever… maybe the worst??
i loved the first hills have eyes and think it’s a really iconic film, it has nice character building + dynamics and you kind of a grow an attachment to them, they’re all relatively memorable, and the backwoods setting is really influential, put this film basically copies the first film but removes all the good and leaves us with a dog having deja vu.. no seriously a dog has a flashback, this film might as well be ‘the hills have eyes remastered’ because about 50% of the film is stolen from the first. this isn’t even a fun bad, it’s just an irredeemable piece of slop who’s entire purpose is to stop them going bankrupt, this is literally just a cash grab, the characters in this one lack depth and are honestly annoying and forgettable, all disposable for the cannibals to much on, i kinda wanted them all to die tbh and i felt no remorse. the gore is subpar at best and all the kills are just lame. it really lacks the tension and rawness of the first film, this is just an emotionless trashy 80s slasher that completely clowns the original, it’s meant to be played in the background or not at all. just a pointless sequel with no reason to exist expect generate money. even wes craven disowned this pile of mouldy slop..
