Goes part of the way to live the gimmick, like Andy or a pro wrestler would do, while simultaneously pulling the curtain back on some moments... for example Lawler tells us it was all just a gag and he was in on it from the start, but the Friday's on air breakdown is played as though it wasn't and none of his co-stars or the director were in on it. When it was all planned. On the one hand, keep it all ambiguous so we're not sure whats a joke or not is the way Andy would want it, I'm sure of that. But on the other, as a biopic you're still left feeling like you never really know Andy or get him as a person. And that would have been a cool shell to crack too.

Miloš Forman has now become a contender for my favourite film director. My rule is make 4 good movies that wouldn't shock me if I were to see them in someone's top 4 on letterboxd. If a director can do that then they're a great director. Forman has only impressed, out of the four I've seen the weakest was still a strong 8/10, so to feel like I've truly got into his filmography I feel when I watch Hairs I'll truly be a Forman fan.
This was great, and made me find the connecting theme throughout Formans film. However male centred this feels, (which it does) Forman's films to me are about the impact of a man. A man's ego, passion, or determination has fueled the conflict and scenes in his films. I guess I'll have to watch more to see if I'm correct.
