20 years ago I can picture the TV being rolled into the classroom to watch this. I remember the ending fucked me up back then, still does now. What a bold way to show everything. And what a STACKED cast, my goodness.

racism is bad and the terrible animation is kinda comforting?

mlk is unbelievably sanitized but i watched this every year for like 6 years in texas public schools and i'm grateful for that at least

also, for as camp and naive as it is, it's a comforting hour-long reprieve from the hellhole that is the american reality in 2025. rest up to keep fighting the good fight

Obviously a horrendously simplified and at times problematic representation of the civil rights movement and MLK’s legacy but literally altered my thinking as a child to such a degree that I don’t think would have happened otherwise
