a return to chooch's movie club, and another flop unfortunately. just an incredibly half-baked, convoluted, confusing yet over explained mess. chooch said someone at her work said it was a film students idea of pulp fiction, fucken spot on. just totally missed the mark, tried to be a bit too clever and a bit too cute.
it throws so many twists and gotchas at you that you stop caring, and then they realise they've made it too confusing so they spend all their poorly written dialogue explaining it for 30 minutes. the big twist is revealed by way of a police officer we've never met telling another inconsequential character over the phone. and it ended up being quite predictable anyway.
i feel they totally misunderstood this type of movie, its not about how many crazy twists you can cram into two hours, it should fundamentally be a character film. so when you dont decelop any of the characters, i dont care about the mystery!!! lots of big names here, but they shouldve turned this one down
