1 star for Marlee Matlin and a half star for the exposure for what is it like to be in a deaf school. Matlin was the best thing about this movie by a long shot. Their relationship was super toxic and James was a condescending asshole all throughout. She deserved better! I’m happy Matlin won ‘best actress’ she was terrific in the scene where she screams out during their fight. I wish I liked it more; now on to the Matlin documentary!
