sooooo sprawling. without a doubt the best thing about this film are the songs. maybe i’m just bitter, but i can’t move past that julie andrews and richard burton would’ve definitely been more fun to watch. there was also a lot that seems to have been evidently cut from third act here that left it feeling very wobbly towards the end. but alas, i’m so happy to have tackled it. vanessa redgrave, you will always be everything

the music in this is so romantic, I wish this adaptation was better. vanessa redgrave, you were woefully miscast but I love you still. the real life romance between vanessa redgrave and frank nero is more thrilling to me than their performance as guinevere and lancelot. this kinda just makes me wanna watch their superior romance movie, letters to juliet.

What an odd musical vehicle and film as a whole. I love Richard Harris but I feel like he whisper-shouted the entire movie. A very French character is played by a very Italian man. The Merlyn bit is odd as is the song about how everyone should be adulterous in may. Maybe it was those things or something else, but something just felt off the whole time.
