A pretty good movie. Solid acting by Widmark. I also liked the main theme that film explored that simply trying to make a career and make yourself well known will ruin your life and the ones around you that love you. But for some reason I didn’t enjoy the plot. Maybe I wasn’t playing close enough attention but the plot just felt kinda boring. I think it might have helped if the film had used Harry’s girlfriend more in the plot and focused how he “killed” her life. But overall a solid movie.

The og compelling dickhead movie, I'm like 79% sure Jules Dassin was reincarnated as the Safdie brothers.

Se o Dostoiévski fizesse um filme noir, eu imagino que seria mais ou menos assim.

Why was he telling her to squirt? Should’ve been called “Freak and the City.”
Harry kinda looked like my cousin.
