Beautifully written and acted, The Lunchbox tells the tale of two people in a huge city connected by their loneliness and letters. It's a pretty simple story, but fleshed out by small details and subtle body language. Irrfan Khan (RIP 🕊) was taken from us too soon; he was an absolute powerhouse of talent, and he proved his acting prowess yet again in this film. Nimrat Kaur also did a fantastic job, and it was so heartwarming to see Ila and Saajan find a kindred spirit in each other. I didn't know Nawazuddin Siddiqui was in this too, but he was excellent; I don't watch a lot of Bollywood but I've always found him to be a very skillful actor. This is the sort of film to watch and ruminate about for a good while, and I'll definitely be revisiting it soon.
