This feels like a velvet-draped fever dream. It’s less about watching a story unfold and more like being invited into some decadent, theatrical confession booth at 2am. Everyone’s wounded, everyone’s performing, everyone’s desperate to be understood. It’s intimate, yet so exaggerated it feels surreal. I wanted to stay there, not for the decadence but for the tenderness hiding underneath it.

I love Matthias. He feels like the emotional pulse beneath all the glitter and velvet. He’s not just beautiful, he’s aching. Niels Schneider portrays him with this quiet fragility, as if he wants to vanish yet craves to be held at the same time.

You can’t get all pretentious and existential after showing me the knob of possibly the most talented French player of his era- this film is absurd.

So this girl and her friend like to host orgies set to electronica. 
Unsurprisingly my favorite character is the eye-patch clad matthias who is a bit of a sad sack and doesnt really want to be there but goes along with things to appease his girlfriends kink. 
Its stylistically appealing but a bit of a horny mess tbh. Like I wish it was more structured and less dream sequence/flashback/arthouse but thats my problem i guess. This was recommended by a coworker that actually enjoyed Climax so i really shouldn’t be surprised. 
Oh and its another french film with a slap so maybe ill start a list .
