Such a strange movie. So traditional and straight forward for so long and then suddenly makes no sense. He just knew to throw the glowing green rod randomly into the ice and that's where the Fortress emerges? He gets the monologue and then now he's got a new haircut and outfit? Okay, sure. Then it oscillates between earnest rescues, flirtatious innuendo, and slapstick goofball hour with our villain. And somehow it all fits together...kind of. Not sure what it's saying by having him reverse time other than I guess he really likes Lois. Feels held together by John Williams' score, some adorable miniatures, and Reeve who really sells it. Could've been a real disaster otherwise.
But the craziest thing in the whole movie is that Christopher Reeve (who plays the titular Superman) is billed THIRD. What's that about?
Cliff Clavin jumpscare.
