Poignant tree-hugging aside, MONTAGE doesn’t quite grip my attention with its central mysteries and when the mother’s involvement became apparent (25mins before the end of the film) everything just rolled downhill and went out the window for me. I could understand the rational of delivering true justice, it just wasn’t all that compelling.

WAIT WAIT WAIT so why did the perp chased a random boy then?????? The boy that ran and got away?????? The one he chased up the stairs what was that about???

Plot holes aside, I thought this was a very well done thriller. I guessed who it was early on though but then again I always suspect the mom/dad/parent/guardian in any whodunit mystery crime movies. There was nothing new about the first 2/3 of the movie but the ending sure did pack in a punch.
