Some very questionable and goofy special effects (hated the generic ghosts/spirits) but the concept of the film is intriguing! Now I haven't read the original story that this was based on but I was drawn in by the fact that it was originally from Clive Barker himself. Starts off very strong with gruesome sequences but gradually becomes a bit drawn out and monotonous, the way the story plays out felt very much like an episode from an anthology series rather than an actual full fledged film which would've suited more honestly. While I do love some of the gore present here, the execution is all over the place and the movie itself visually looked too dull. The concept of the film itself is it's main saving grace as it did made for some ambitious & unique moments, like overall the idea of ghosts using a human body to write down their stories is pretty grisly and would make for a great collection of short stories but I don't think it translates well to film format and so the film ended up feeling a bit more average rather than something really good.
