This was so incredibly sloppy and all over the place, but strangely in such a charming way. I’d genuinely rewatch this. It’s such a stupid film, but I kinda liked it, it was very refreshing. The awkward dialogue might’ve just been bad writing; I’m going to imagine it was a creative decision because I liked some of it.

I feel so bad for Arthur in this. Obviously he has issues that he needs to work out on his own and he does in a way by the end. His parents were genuinely infuriating and they still didn’t show up to his band playing even after they sort of reconciled over the phone. He needed some genuine therapy not whatever Ellington was doing
